The Sonneborn legacy dates to 1904. In 1916, we became the first U.S. white oil manufacturer in response to World War I, when European white oil supplies became unavailable. In 1968, we expanded our global footprint by acquiring Netherlands manufacturing facilities, enabling customers worldwide to source equivalent products from two strategic geographical locations.
Following strategic acquisitions and mergers, Sonneborn became the commercial brand of HF Sinclair Corporation in 2022 and proudly celebrated our 120th anniversary in 2024.
Sonneborn operates state-of-the-art production facilities in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and Petrolia, Pennsylvania, ensuring reliable global supply and consistent quality. Our comprehensive product portfolio includes White Oils, Petrolatums, Waxes, Sodium Sulfonates, an array of naturally derived solutions as well as custom formulations.

In October 2025, Sonneborn launched an expanded SonneNatural™ portfolio, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability through naturally derived ingredients. This innovative product line features 100% bio-based Renewable White Alkanes, plant-based waxy emollients, and hybrid solutions—offering stable, high-purity natural alternatives to Cyclic Siloxanes, White Oils, Petrolatums, Waxes, and Conventional Vegetable Oils.
HF Sinclair Corporation, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is an independent energy company that produces and markets high-value light products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, renewable diesel and lubricants and specialty products.
HF Sinclair owns and operates refineries located in Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Wyoming, Washington and Utah. HF Sinclair provides petroleum product and crude oil transportation, terminalling, storage and throughput services to our refineries and the petroleum industry. HF Sinclair markets its refined products principally in the Southwest U.S., the Rocky Mountains extending into the Pacific Northwest and in other neighboring Plains states and supplies high-quality fuels to more than 1,700 branded stations and licenses the use of the Sinclair brand to more than 300 additional locations throughout the country.
HF Sinclair produces renewable diesel at two of its facilities in Wyoming and also at its facility in New Mexico. In addition, subsidiaries of HF Sinclair produce and market base oils and other specialized lubricants in the U.S., Canada and the Netherlands, and export products to more than 80 countries.
